Hybrasil

What does it take to hone your craft? Will Kinsella would know. The Irish born, Berlin-based producer is no stranger to the grind. He’s built a wealth of experience, a deep record bag and world-class production skills, honed during his time spent studying electronic music in all its facets.

Hybrasil’s commitment to the rave is noteworthy. Growing up in Dublin, it wasn’t long before pirate radio caught his ear, a passion which quickly matured into turntables and crate digging. Coming out of college, not only had Hybrasil become an accomplished and technically skilled DJ, but he was also using his passion for the craft to unite people outside the club. During his formative years, Hybrasil founded the DIT DJ Society, a feat for which he received a lifetime achievement award from Dublin Technical University in 2017.

The skills he developed with his fellow students and peers soon came to good use, as he took up residency as a radio DJ, presenting a late-night 3 deck mix show inspired by The Wizard on WJLB Detroit. It wasn’t long before Hybrasil was picked up by Irish National Radio. A broadcasting career that eventually spanned a total of twelve years. Dedication to the craft.

In 2008, Hybrasil began a two-year study of Sound and Music Technology, after which he was rewarded with a house engineer posting at the world-famous Temple Lane and Grouse Lodge studios. Immersed in music and in-demand, Hybrasil spent these years engineering for globally renowned artists and producing tracks on NEVE and SSLxous label and a number of key performances at festivals and clubs across the continent. His most ambitious project took five years to develop. For this, he wrote a live show entitled ‘Spaces’, performed before Jeff Mills & the National Concert Orchestra at Dublin’s Bord Gais Theatre.

Shortly after moving to Berlin in 2018, he was welcomed into the Rekids family by Radio Slave, debuting on the label with the ‘Afra EP’ in May 2019, which was duly picked up by a number of key players in the techno scene. Since then he’s been working with Radio Slave in the studio, as a technical consultant for the SRVD Live show and earning mixing credits on Rekids.

As Hybrasil’s career trajectory steepens... the way through the woods widens... the hard work is paying off.
