ASW stalwart An On Bast returns with a new innovative album 'Tender Perceptions'

Awesome Soundwave stalwart An On Bast returns to the label this Autumn with yet further innovative output in the form of her “Tender Perceptions” LP, a second LP on the label following on from her “I Create As I Speak” album back in 2021.

“Tender Perceptions” is a beautiful body of work which sees the Polish live act, and revered producer explore uncharted territory, committed to challenging her craft and consistently evolving her ingenious sound. Ten tracks communicate in harmony to tell an animated tale and colourful journey, utilising her vast collection of synthesisers, modular synthesisers, samplers and loopers.

Throughout the course of the LP, An On Bast covers an incredible amount of ground, all residing in eccentric corners of the techno spectrum, whether you find yourself immersed in the pulsating sounds of “Sunchouli” and “I Am The Projector” or whether you are diving in to shimmering quests such as “Imaginary Shadows Of Leonardo” and “Self-Replicating Core” there is something here for the most discerning of record bags. A track close to the heart of the project is “Climb The Tree”, a track that was born just days before a highlight collaboration between Anna and ASW as they embarked on a huge Wembley Arena (London) show back in October ‘22. 

The concept and name of the album “Tender Perceptions” links to Anna’s fascination between sound, its unlimited possibilities and how this is reflected in day to day life. The perception of life's force, the multitude of layers that comes with this, phases of time, mental and other realities. Music holds invisible qualities and immense power, but how many influential processes, and flowing forms do we not even know are there? 

It is to no surprise that An On Bast has become a firm family member over the years with her ethos and energy reflecting exactly that of the label! A future classic sitting comfortably on the established imprint.
