It's a 'Poem for the Planet' with new single from Hannes Bieger

Our label continues to shine across the electronic landscape with a new single from Hannes Bieger, out April 3rd and taken from his forthcoming album PELE, due May 2020.

Bieger is one of Europe's most in-demand mixing engineers and so knows everything there is to know about making, mastering, recording and mixing electronic sounds. He puts all that to good use in his own slick tunes, which have come on the likes of Bedrock, Poker Flat and Flying Circus His new album shows the breadth and depth of his sound, and this fantastic first single from it is a real tease of what’s to come.

The track ‘Poem for the Planet’ features Ursula Rucker and is a hypnotic bit of deep rolling techno. The traintrack-like drums get you in the groove, while the broad synths add soul and colour. The spoken word vocals add another layer of depth that will get the crowd locked in throughout. Ursula of course, is best known as a renowned spoken word recording artists, known for her collaborations with the likes of Wax Tailor, King Britt, Josh Wink, Alix Perez and most notably, The Roots.

What’s more, Ursula’s strong and powerful environmental message is emphasised by the fact that all proceeds from the single will go towards re-greening projects in Africa via Awesome Soundwave’s partners, Treeceeds. This is moody and atmospheric techno, and a fine sample of what to expect from Hannes’ brilliant forthcoming LP.
